Rogers Arena
More than two decades after the opening of Rogers Arena in Vancouver, hockey fans from British Columbia and beyond continue to make the trek to this venue in droves to cheer on the hometown Canucks. The ambience and atmosphere of the facility brings about a euphoric sense every time the puck is dropped.
While downtown Vancouver may have many attractions, there is only one place to be: Rogers Arena. Hockey is a way of life out there and this venue is a testament to that lifestyle. Upgrades along the way have kept this building not only relevant, but cutting edge with the LED ribbon board going around the arena, upgraded scoreboard with widescreen LED display, and top of the line sound systems.
Though the entire arena is a sight to behold, this is especially true for the Rogers Arena luxury suites. There are nearly 90 suites in this building located across multiple levels, ensuring that your group can find the right spot to enjoy the Canucks. Suite sizes and seating options can accommodate your group, regardless of the number of people. Top notch catering and other amenities elevate the level of enjoyment to a once in a lifetime experience.

Beautiful British Columbia is home to an NHL franchise that was founded in 1945 as part of the Pacific Coast Hockey League. The Vancouver Canucks spent seven years in the PCHL before switching to the WHA for the next 18 years. A complicated problem that the NHL was facing got its solution in the form of a new expansion franchise coming to Vancouver. The Canucks were purchased out of the WHA and moved into the NHL for the 1970 season.
Like most new teams, the Canucks failed to make the playoffs in their first several seasons and then, once they did make it to the postseason, they could not break out beyond the preliminary round. 1982 proved different, however, with the Canucks surging all the way to the finals before being swept by the New York Islanders, amidst their dynastic run.
Vancouver would not be back to the finals for another 12 years when they would face off against another New York team in the Rangers. The epic series went a full seven games before the Rangers prevailed on their home ice in game seven, ending their 54 year Stanley Cup drought and making Vancouver continue to wait to hoist hockey’s biggest prize.
Fans in Vancouver waited another 17 seasons to the see their Canucks reach the Finals again. 2011 saw the fast and talented team match up with the Boston Bruins. Again, the series went to seven games and, again, the Canucks could not find a way to come out on top as Boston won its first Stanley Cup since 1972.
Despite the play of some great Canucks legends over the years, the franchise is still looking for its first Championship. Still stinging from the loss to the Bruins, the Canucks had not experienced much playoff success since. That is, until the 2020 season. Playing in a pandemic-induced bubble, the Canucks advanced into the tournament by way of a four game qualifying series against Minnesota. Knocking out the defending champion St. Louis Blues in the opening round, Vancouver took Vegas to the brink of elimination in round two. Exiting the playoffs at this point, the Canucks are geared up for next season.
However, with a 2020-2021 record of 22-28-4, the Vancouver Canucks and their head coach Travis Green failed to make the playoffs. Despite the setback, the future is looking bright in Vancouver this young team begins to take shape. Bo Harvat was named the captain of the team and leads with fire and tenacity.
Center Elias Pettersson won the Calder Trophy as rookie of the year in 2019 and continues to impress. Brock Boesner and JT Miller are also determined to help elevate this club. The young and talented Brandon Sutter is eager to take on a bigger role for the team. Additionally, the Canucks have some veteran talent on their roster in Travis Hamonic and newly acquired defenseman Oliver Ekman-Larsson. He joined the team via a blockbuster offseason trade with Arizona that also brought Conor Garland on board.. Tanner Pearson has the ability to break out at any time. Thatcher Demko has ascended the depth chart to become the unquestionable starters for the Canucks as Jaroslav Halak signed on to back him up.
Vancouver has had the pleasure of enjoying the play of a number of players with world-class talent. Among them are Henrik Sedin, Daniel Sedin, Pavel Bure, Trevor Linden, Roberto Luongo, Markus Naslund, Stan Smyl, Mattis Ohlund, and Kirk McLean.
