Butler University, Creighton University, and Xavier University joined the conference right away. The University of Connecticut became the latest member in July of 2020.

Since the relaunch of the Big East in 2013, this conference has been incredibly successful in hosting their championship competitions. The 2013–14 season was named as the inaugural season of the reconfigured Big East Conference. Since then, Villanova has dominated most of the tournaments. However, other winners include Seton Hall and Providence.
