Soldier Field – The Oldest Stadium in the NFL

Soldier Field is a multi-purpose stadium that was opened in 1924. Since then, the facility has been serving as the home of the Chicago Bears and the Chicago Fire FC (since their founding in 1997).Before moving to Soldier Field,the Bears were playing their home games at Wrigley Field.

As part of a major renovation project in 2002, Soldier Field’s interior was rebuilt to modernize the facility. This actually lowered its seating capacity and eventually led to it being delisted as a National Historic Landmark in 2006. The stadium currently has a football capacity of 61,500, which makes it the smallest stadium in the NFL.
