TD Ballpark
Since the 1989 season, the Toronto Blue Jays have played their home games at TD Ballpark in downtown Toronto. A magnificent domed structure that has hosted everyone from the Toronto Argonauts of the CFL, the Toronto Raptors of the NBA, and the Buffalo Bills of the NFL for their Toronto Series games, today it serves only the Blue Jays in a consistent capacity. However, many other events make their way through the TD Ballpark during the course of the year, including concerts, conventions and trade shows, and more.
Featuring the first retractable roof in a North American major sports stadium, this venue pushed the limits of construction to bring to the people an incredible complex, ideal for enjoying a sporting event. Between the dome and the AstroTurf field, the Blue Jays always have ideal conditions for their home games.

The lone MLB team based out of Canada, the Toronto Blue Jays have been representing our neighbors to the north in professional baseball since 1977. Like any expansion team, the first few seasons in Toronto are remembered for their struggles. However, by 1983 they had turned into a team with a winning record. Just two seasons later they had improved enough to capture their first division title. Soon the Blue Jays grew into an American League East powerhouse, culminating with back to back World Series championships in 1992 and 1993.
Toronto was rocking during this time of baseball euphoria as their beloved Blue Jays, led by memorable players including Roberto Alomar, Joe Carter, Devon White, and Jon Olerud were racking up the division championships on their way to true baseball glory.
In the greatest single moment in the history of this franchise, Joe Carter stepped up to the plate in the bottom of the ninth inning of game six of the 1993 World Series with Toronto trailing 6-5. On a 2-2 count, with two men on base, Carter ripped a shot off Philadelphia Phillies pitcher Mitch Williams that sailed over the fence for a three run walk-off home run to win the World Series!
Following the 1993 season, Blue Jays baseball regressed into a middle of the pack team. They spent the next 21 seasons out of playoff contention before finally winning back their division in 2015.
The 2020 season had a shortened schedule due to the pandemic, but the Blue Jays managed to finish with a record of 32-28, earning second place in the AL East. Their playoff journey however, lasted just two games as they were swept by the Tampa Bay Rays in the AL Wild Card. While the postseason berth was an improvement, this was not the outcome the Blue Jays were looking for when they tabbed Charlie Montoyo to be their new manager. He needs more time to continue to craft this group into a sustainable winning team.
This is clearly still a team in transition and there are many moving parts on this roster. Chief among them is Vladimir Guerrero Jr. He came into the season intent on being in better shape and has been excellent in his second season. Danny Jansen and Alejandro Kirk trade off starts behind the plate. Cavan Biggio and Bo Bichette look to play great defense in the infield. Signing Marcus Semien has made the infield complete.
The outfield looks pretty set with Teoscar Hernandez, Lourdes Gurriel Jr., and the newly acquired George Springer. Coming over from Houston on a six year deal worth $150 million, Springer’s excellent numbers are a welcome upgrade to the lineup.
Pitching is always important in baseball, putting the Blue Jays in a great spot with their recent acquisitions. Hyun-Jin Ryu joined Toronto last year on a four year deal worth $80 while Robby Ray and Alek Manoah sure up a rotation that includes Steven Matz and newly acquired Jose Berrios. While more upgrades may be on the horizon, this group should be able to keep the score low for Rafael Dolis when he comes in to effectively close out the games.
Blue Jays fans know what great baseball looks like. They have seen it over the years from some of the best players ever to suit up in a Toronto Blue Jays uniform, including Joe Carter, George Ball, Jose Bautista, Roy Halladay, Dave Stieb, and Roberto Alomar.
